Tim Tebow Donates More Than 50 Pairs of Shoes to AZ Homeless Shelter

Christian athlete, filmmaker and philanthropist Tim Tebow has just donated shoes to a homeless shelter in Phoenix, Faithwire reports.

Tebow even reportedly took off the shoes on his feet to place them into a donation basket. In all, Tebow donated 50 pairs of new shoes for the people staying at the homeless facility. He thought he had everyone covered, but when he noticed there were more guests than he thought, that was when he took off his own shoes to help make up for the difference.

Steve Zabilski, the Chief Executive Officer of St. Vincent De Paul, the name of the homeless shelter in Phoenix, AZ where Tebow brought the donations, stated to ABC15, “If you ask me, or many of our guests, Tim has gone from professional athlete to Super Hero in just a few years. His actions off the field are as impressive as any last-minute touchdown pass or game-winning home run.”

Evangelist Franklin Graham also commented on Tebow’s charitable gesture, writing on Twitter that Tebow was “A Good Samaritan for sure.”

Tim Tebow has been giving back to the country in various ways for years. His foundation hosts a yearly “Night to Shine,” which is a prom for special needs children. Additionally, his foundation has worked to stop human trafficking by channeling donations to anti-human-trafficking groups such as Her Song. Further, the Foundation offers support for those who have been rescued.

In addition to fighting human trafficking, his foundation also runs its own adoption fund to help parents adopt orphaned children across the world. They have partnered with organizations Show Hope and Lifesong for Orphans to help cover adoption costs.

Tim Tebow also released a movie titled “Run The Race” in 2019 that was about two brothers who played football yet struggled with making sense of the world around them. It was directed by Chris Dowling and made in 2018. However, it wasn’t released in the United States until February 2020.
