In Vietnam, a pastor is forced to eat frogs, rats and insects, in order to survive
In Vietnam, pastors who are imprisoned because of their faith are having a hard time, living in precarious conditions, making it difficult to survive.
According to God Reports, “a pastor was sentenced to 11 years, but the sentence has been extended to 20 years,” said the director of the Christian local ministry Christian Aid Mission (CAM).
Life conditions in the prison are harsh. Inmates receive only one bowl of rice at noon and another at evening.
Some of these pastors don’t have any external support, making even worse their situation in jail.
““One pastor’s family is not allowed to visit him anymore. He’s in a private cell now, so he gets only rice. He’s hungry and malnourished. He eats insects, mice, frogs, whatever is available. When they let you out of the private cell after one or two months, you can’t even walk; you crawl. You cannot stand.”
Not only pastors are facing persecution. Many Christian families living in rural villages are facing pressures because of their new lifestyle after becoming Christians.
